Well, I finally did it!! What I mean is my son did it for me. I'm a 60 year old computer dummy who wanted to start a store on Etsy. I have a wonderful hubby who loves to turn wood. Lots of wood. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad. No really!! He's out of the house ( in his shop) and he's enjoying himself so whats the problem? Not a thing the first year......or the second......but really, how many wooden things can a girl have????
So, I thought we should open a shop on Etsy and at least get rid of some of his treasures. So I went online, I can do that unattended!!! Started to open a shop and Bam!!! had no idea what I was doing. Emergency call to son was in order!! Well, he came for the week end and spent the majority of it making a banner and avitar and taking a gazillion pictures, some of which were actually good. And then he left!!!!
So, I get up and go to the forums, chats, watch the hearts on the shop, wait for sales, watch for hearts on the items inthe shop, wait for sale, chat, watch, go to forums, watch, and I wait............and wait........................and finally, my first sale!!!!!! Dance for joy!!!!! Then I go into the "panic mode", you know the one, now what?????? Oh I know, go to the forums, they'll tell you whats next!
Now, seriously, those forums are just there for the likes of me!!! I've never had so much help in my life. No complaints from me. I can use all of it I can get, really!
Now, the shop is up and running for a few weeks, I've manages two sales so far, not complaining but more would always be great too. And when I go to the forum they tell me I need a blog.........................bless their little hearts. I've never said anything anyone wanted to listen to ever, so whats up with now being any different?
And here I am. And oh, by the by, my son isn't here so I'm doing this without a net! I'm sure that soon enough he will call or e-mail and critique me!! He's a no holds barred kind of guy. So I'll have to get my thick skin out!! Let me know if you too spend your days just watching for hearts, running from forum to forum, or chatting, twittering, and in general feeling like etsy has stolen your life.
